Apply Gothic makeup is not as difficult you might perceive it to be. Again, the two most important areas of a Gothic makeup look are the foundation and the eyes. So, spend as much time as you can in achieving the palest skin. What you want is to achieve a pale look, and not a layer of makeup caked all over. It is best to use a shade about two shades lighter than your natural one, and put white powder to finish on top.

Gothic make up is also about the eyes. The most basic Goth makeup involves putting on some heavy black eyeliner and some dark eyeshadow. Lining your eyes with good eyeliner both at the top and at the bottom to maybe achieve a cat-eye like appearance will also look great. You can go for a smoky look with a pencil liner. While Goth cosmetics and eye makeup mostly involve black, feel free to use other colors such as green, purple, blue or even red and white to add some highlight into your Goth look.

Var är böcker för oss gothare?
Varför väljer man tema baserat på land, spanskt i år, och inte på t ex olika kulturer, typ gothare, synthare, barock eller ufo-jagare?

Svaret är kanske givet: För att det ska vara ett stort tema som lockar många till mässan och bjuder på många författare och många böcker i ämnet.

Så följdfrågan är: Varför skriver våra författare så lite om gothare?
När var det senast som en deckare tog upp något gothiskt? Det finns t ex en MC-knutte i Stieg Larssons trilogi, varför inte en gothare nånstans, för satan?!

Vissa är helt förvirrade...

I'm gothic. Everyone stares and points and laughs at me
whenever I go
anywhere because I have blue hair and I wear ALOT of make-up
(tons of black
eyeliner, black lipstick, and white powder all over my face),
and I wear pants
with chains and shirts with skulls on them or whatever and
a spiked choker and
wristbands. Am I normal for choosing to look the way I
do? I get called names
like 'freak' but I don't think I'm a freak. I'm just
not the same as all the
'conservative' people. I'm also a Theistic
Satanist (not LaVeyan) and I don't
believe that Satan is evil
though. I believe that Satan is both good and evil
and that he taught us to
make our own decisions and believe for ourselves what's
good and evil, right
and wrong, and not follow God's views. God is the oppressor
of humanity and
he created us just for the sake of worshipping him. Satan
doesn't really
want to be worshipped, just acknowledged. Am I insane for
believing in this
religion even though I'm not one of those rebellious kids who
thinks it's
cool to scribble 666 on their foreheads and act all 'evil' for shock
value?

Årets innetrend är mord ungdomarna emellan. Tre fall på några månader.
Det är Satans verk.

Frågan vi bör ställa och försöka besvara är Varför straffar Satan just Sverige, just svensk ungdom? Vad är det vi i Sveariket gjort mot Djävulen som fått Honom att rikta sin ilska mot oss?

Svaret vet jag.
Något är grundläggande fel i vårt samhälle.
Något är sjukt obotligt.
Som bara Satans vrede kan rätta till.
Så vad är det??

In the earliest usage of the word, "gothic" refers to the language and customs of the Goths and, more broadly, the Germanic peoples who in the third, fourth and fifth centuries AD harried the Roman Empire, capturing Athens in 267-8 and sacking Rome in 410. For the Renaissance, therefore, Gothic and Classic were opposites: gothic barbarism, superstition and violence were the abhorred contraries to Classical civilisation, reason and peace. This contrast conditions the gradual extension of the word's referent to include the barbarous, uncouth and unpolished in general. And this more general sense of the word in turn governs, from at least the last decade of the seventeenth century, the use of gothic to mean the medieval. In comparison with the art of the Greeks and Romans, medieval art, architecture and society was thought to be barbaric or, in other words, gothic. Addison illustrates this collocation of the gothic, the barbaric and the medieval in The Spectator, No. 62 (May 11, 1711). Those writers, he opines, who lack the "strength of genius to give that majestic simplicity to nature, which we so much admire in the works of the antients", are "Goths in poetry, who like those in architecture, not being able to come up to the beautiful simplicity of the old Greeks and Romans, have endeavoured to supply its place with all the extravagancies of an irregular fancy".
